Auto ads are a family of ad formats that offer a simple and innovative way for you to monetize your content. With Auto ads, you place the same piece of ad code once on each page. After you've added the code, Google automatically shows ads at optimal times when they’re likely to perform well for you and provide a good experience for your users.

Auto ads and manually placed ad units
Auto ads work equally well on sites that don't have ads and on those already showing ads. If you already have ad units on your page, Auto ads will detect them and only place ads where there's available space. So there’s no need to remove your existing ad units if you don’t want to. If you don't have any ad units on your page, Auto ads will find all potential placements and use them to monetize your page.
The following examples show you how a page with an existing ad unit might look before and after Auto ads have been set up:

Some Auto ad formats target similar ad placements, for example, both Text & display and In-article ads can appear in between your articles. If you turn on both of these ad formats they'll compete for the same ad placements and the highest-paying ads will show.

2)How to set up Auto ads
To set up Auto ads, you first choose which ad formats you'd like to show across your pages. These will be your "global settings". You then copy and paste the ad code on each page that you want Auto ads to appear. After you've done this, you can choose to show different ad formats on some of your pages by creating a URL group.
If you chose the "Show ads as soon as account is activated" option when you connected your site to AdSense, then we've already set up Auto ads for you. To change your global settings, visit your Auto ads page and click edit

.Before you start
- Check that your site is listed on the Sites page in your account. If not, make sure you add and verify your sitebefore you set up Auto ads. Learn how to manage your sites in AdSense.
- If you signed up for AdSense through a host partner (e.g., YouTube, Blogger, etc.) and you’d like to show Auto ads on your own non-host partner site, then you’ll need to upgrade your hosted account to show ads on your own site.
Set up Auto ads
To set up Auto ads, follow these steps:
- Sign in to your AdSense account.
- Click Ads.
- On the "Auto ads" page, click Get started.
- On the "Choose global settings" page, use the controls to select the ad formats that you'd like to show.
- Leave Automatically get new formats selected if you want AdSense to automatically add new ad formats to your global settings as they become available.
- Click Save.
- On the "Place code on your page" page, click Copy code.
- Paste the ad code between the
<head>and</head>tags of each page where you want to show Auto ads. If you're not sure how to do this, see our Code implementation guide.WordPress user? Get help with adding AdSense code.Note that you only need to do this once per page. The ad code is the same for every page on every site where you want to show Auto ads. After you've pasted the ad code, you can still make changes to your Auto ads settings at any time without having to change the ad code. - Click Done.Auto ads will start to appear on your pages in about 10-20 minutes.
Tracking the performance of Auto ads
You can track the performance of your Auto ads by viewing the Ad formats report on your Reports page. Auto ads are shown under ad format labels ("Anchor", "Vignettes", etc.) in the report.

The steps to getting paid
Please note that you must complete all the steps below before we'll issue your first AdSense payment.
1. Provide your tax information (not required in all locations)
Depending on your location, we may be required to collect tax-related information. For more information, see how to submit your tax information to Google.
2. Confirm your payee name and address
Since Personal Identification Numbers (PINs), which are described below, are sent to the mailing address in your account, it's important to confirm the accuracy of your payment address and payee name. If you need to correct any information, you can follow these instructions to change your payee name or change your payment address.
3. Select your form of payment
When your earnings reach the payment method selection threshold, you can select your form of payment. Depending on your payment address, there may be several forms of payment available to you, including Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT), EFT via Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), wire transfer, checks, and Western Union Quick Cash. 4. Verify your address
When your earnings reach the address verification threshold, we'll mail a Personal Identification Number (PIN) to the payee address in your AdSense account. You must enter this PIN into your AdSense account before we can issue any payments. Your PIN will be sent by standard post and may take up to 2-3 weeks to arrive. 5. Meet the payment threshold
If your current balance reaches the payment threshold by the end of the month, a 21 day payment processing period begins. After the processing period ends, we'll issue you a payment. Learn more about payment timelines.
For example, let's say the payment threshold for your account is $100. If your current balance reached $100 during January and you've completed all the steps above, then we would issue you a payment at the end of February.
If your current balance hasn’t yet reached the payment threshold, your finalized earnings will roll over to the next month and your balance will accrue until the threshold is met.
Tracking your earnings
You can see a daily summary of your estimated earnings on your Home page. For more details, you can track your estimated AdSense earnings on the Performance reports page in your account. There's also important information included in your "Payment receipt", which is linked from the "Transactions" page.
The "Transactions" page tracks the status of previously issued payments, as well as monthly account calculations. You can see earnings credited to your account as well as any adjustments made as separate line items on this page. Once your payment is issued, you'll see it listed as an "Automatic payment" link. Click on the link to see the payment receipt (as well as the exchange rate used to calculate your local currency payment, if applicable).

Home page reports: understand your earnings
The reports in your AdSense account are intended to give you close estimates of the current activity in your account. However, these reports do not represent your finalized earnings. Many factors can affect the amount that is ultimately paid to you. After your earnings are finalized, they're posted to your "Transactions" page. Where appropriate and possible, any revenue found to be from invalid clicks or impressions is refunded back to the affected advertisers. If your account is disabled for invalid activity, then you won't be able to receive payment and, where appropriate and possible, we'll refund the revenue in the account to affected advertisers.
On the Home page of your account, we show the following information:
- Estimated earnings: close estimates of your recent account activity from today, yesterday, this month so far, and last month
- Finalized earnings: this section displays two levels of earnings:
- “Current balance", which is the current balance of your earnings that have not yet been paid out. This balance may not reflect the total amount of payment you receive. Google may make adjustments to the amount, including for rounding discrepancies, any invalid activity that needs to be adjusted from your earnings, or other month-end credits as necessary.
- “Most recent payment", which will reflect the payment you last received.
We may make adjustments to your estimated or finalized earnings to account for invalid impressions or clicks, which means that we may remove earnings from your payable balance. Invalid activity may be caused by issues with traffic sources or ad implementation. We recommend that you review the beginner’s guide and tips for preventing invalid activity for more information.
We reserve the right to adjust a publisher’s earnings in the case that an advertiser who advertised on their site defaults on payment.
To maintain the integrity of our invalid activity detection system and prevent users from circumventing the system, we aren't able to provide details about how much was adjusted per day or per channel. Please know that we have these invalid activity protections in place to keep our network of AdSense sites a safe and useful environment for advertisers, publishers, and users.
